🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day from the middle of the Pacific.

From 2008 to 2014, I spent a lot of time in Canada. I even lived in Toronto on a work visa for a while. I met some of the best people I know, learned how to handle winter (barely), and picked up a deeper appreciation for honesty, dry humor, and saying sorry even when it’s not your fault.
Now Plate Lunch Collective is based on O‘ahu. But a piece of this perspective? Of how we work, write, and show up? That was shaped in Canadian boardrooms, bars, breakfast joints and weekends at summer cottages.
So whether you’re in the city or at the lake today, cheers!
Not just for the fireworks. But for the way you carry yourselves. For the nuance. For the quiet decency.
Canada, you gave me more than just cold hands and good memories.
You reminded me that good work doesn’t need to shout.
Thanks for that.
