Why here
I moved to Costa Rica to work onsite with clients, two resorts to start, and lived in Langosta on the Guanacaste coast while the work spread inland to anti-aging and healthcare clinics in San José. The thing I kept watching played out at a resort patio restaurant at lunch. Someone would mention they had gotten dental work done while they were here and saved thousands, and the person across the table would ask if it was safe, if it was any good. The answer was always some version of the same thing, that the office was spotless and more professional than what they were used to back home. Two people at the same table, one who came for a beach vacation and discovered the care by accident, and one who had crossed a border on purpose for exactly it. Same country, same clinic, two completely different reasons for being in the chair.
Surf ran the same way. The popular breaks are in every guidebook, but the dirt-road network off the paved highway leads to empty, pristine waves that no map marks, and knowing which spots run surf schools and which have heavy local crowds is the difference between two completely different days on the same coast. The guidebook answer and the drove-the-dirt-road answer are not the same answer, even when the search is.
People book trips to Costa Rica thinking it is an island. It is not, it shares land borders I crossed myself on visa runs. A tool inherits whatever the traveler already believes. I ate lunch next to the people getting it wrong and the people getting it right, and after a while you can hear the difference.

FAQ
Does Plate Lunch Collective work with businesses in Central America?
+
Yes. Central America is a specialized service area. The founder lived in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, and has direct familiarity with the surf economy in Panama and El Salvador. The deliverables are entity data, structured content, and schema, all built for remote delivery.
Most of my guests come from the US or Canada. Does that change the approach?
+
It defines it. The work targets the pre-arrival conversation where travelers from those source markets are making decisions. The entity data, content, and schema need to serve each source market's search behavior, which differs by country and by platform.
How does the work account for the fact that each country in Central America has its own tourism market?
+
Each country has its own directories, its own review ecosystem, its own competitive field. Entity signals that work for a Costa Rica eco-lodge will not work the same way for a Panama boutique hotel. The work treats each market as a distinct context.
How do you know Central America?
+
The market knowledge comes from living there, not visiting. Its founder was based on the Guanacaste coast of Costa Rica, working onsite with clients that ranged from resorts to healthcare clinics, and traveled the region for the work, including into Nicaragua, Panama, and El Salvador. What that time teaches you is that a single country holds several markets at once: the traveler who plans for months and the one who discovers something mid-trip are not the same buyer, even when they search for the same thing, and the difference is invisible unless you have watched both. Understanding how demand actually reaches a business in this region, and where in the journey it starts, is what shapes how Plate Lunch Collective builds a page for Central America.
