Crunchbase
Crunchbase is an online database of company information focused on private companies, from funding rounds to acquisitions. Crunchbase says its data combines direct input from company experts, signals from its users, its own collection systems, outside sources and analysts who check it. Investors, sales teams and founders use it to research companies.

What Crunchbase means for your business
Crunchbase's help center says any registered user who links a LinkedIn or Google account can add a company profile. A complete one has the logo, founding date, website and social links, a short and long description, headquarters, industries and founders. A company can lock some fields so only verified employees can edit them, and some fields can only be removed by Crunchbase staff.
Wikidata, the open database run alongside Wikipedia, has a field for a company's Crunchbase ID, so a company's Wikidata item can point to its Crunchbase profile. That makes the profile one more place where your founding date, address and description should match your own website.
We'd treat Crunchbase as worth a look for startups, funded companies and businesses that sell to other businesses, since Crunchbase is built around private companies and their funding. For a local plumber or café, a profile isn't where we'd start. If one already exists, we'd fix anything wrong in it, since any registered user can edit it.
