ChatGPT shopping
ChatGPT shopping is the part of ChatGPT that shows product options, with pictures, details and links to stores, when a question sounds like someone wants to buy. OpenAI says ChatGPT picks these results on its own, that they aren't ads, and that none of OpenAI's partnerships sway them.

What ChatGPT shopping means for your business
OpenAI lists what ChatGPT weighs when it picks products. It looks at price, descriptions and other details from stores and data providers. It also uses what it already knew before searching, and OpenAI's safety rules. ChatGPT may also rewrite product titles, add labels like "Budget-friendly" and sum up reviews from public websites. OpenAI says it doesn't verify those reviews.
OpenAI's page for stores says shopping is live in the U.S. and that Shopify and Etsy catalogs are already connected. Other stores can apply to send a product feed. The same page says a feed isn't required if ChatGPT already crawls your site, though it gives you more control, and that buyers finish the purchase on the store's own site or app.
When several stores sell the same item, OpenAI says it ranks them by availability, price, quality and whether the store is the maker or main seller. If you make the product yourself, we'd say so plainly on the page and in any feed you send. And since ChatGPT sums up public reviews, we'd read what yours say about the things buyers ask, like fit or how long it lasts.
If you're weighing whether a ChatGPT product feed is worth the setup, our report's table of AI shopping programs shows where ChatGPT's stands next to Amazon's and Google's.
