Entity Home

An entity home is the one page on your own website that says plainly who your business is, and that search engines and AI tools can trust most for the facts about you. The term comes from Jason Barnard, founder of Kalicube. It's usually your About page, the place that settles it when other sites disagree.

What Entity Home means for your business

For a small business, we'd make the About page the entity home, the same page Barnard suggests. Its first lines should say what you do, where you work and who you serve, in one plain sentence a stranger would get. Then we'd use that sentence, or close to it, everywhere else your business shows up.

The page only helps if the rest of the web agrees with it. Your Google Business Profile, your social profiles and your directory listings should carry the same name, address and description, and link back to this page, so an AI tool doesn't get a mixed story.

Buyers won't search for the phrase itself, so the page has to carry your own name and facts in plain words. We'd also add Organization schema to it, with links to your official profiles, so the same facts are there in a form software can read. If ChatGPT or Google mixes you up with another business, or keeps telling an old version of your story, getting AI to tell your business apart starts here.

How AI answers it today

On October 29, 2026, Google's AI Overview read the phrase as smart home software and cited Home Assistant guides, with no marketing meaning at all. ChatGPT gave both meanings, asked which one we meant, and cited Kalicube and several agency glossaries.
