Knowledge Panel
A knowledge panel is the information box that shows up on Google when you search for a person, place, organization or thing that's in Google's Knowledge Graph. Google builds it automatically from sources across the web and updates it as those sources change. The person or organization it's about can claim it and suggest changes, and anyone can send feedback.

What Knowledge Panel means for your business
A knowledge panel is Google's summary of you, and you don't control what goes in it. Claiming it lets you suggest edits, and Google decides whether to use them.
Google says businesses have their own Business Profile panels. They look similar, but you create and manage them through Business Profile, not through the knowledge panel process.
You can't ask Google for a panel either. Its help page says panels are created automatically when there's enough information on the open web, and that its automated systems decide when one appears. So we'd never promise you a knowledge panel. We'd work on the facts it's built from: your About page, your profiles on other sites, and what reliable sites say about you.
If your panel shows an old description or someone else's details, cleaning up the facts Google has about you is where we'd begin.
