Organization Schema

Organization schema is structured data, code on your website, that tells search engines the basic facts about your business: its name, website, logo, address, phone number and official profiles on other sites. Google says adding it to your home page, or one page about you like your About page, can help it tell your organization apart in search results.

What Organization Schema means for your business

Google doesn't require any one property. It asks you to fill in the ones that apply. A shop that sells only online would use OnlineStore, the example in Google's own guide, and a business with a shopfront or office would use a local business type.

We'd check the code after any site rebuild, since a new theme or plugin can add a second block with a different name or logo. Then we'd read the sameAs list, the links to your official profiles on other sites, and drop any that point to an old page or one you no longer run.

If Google shows an old logo or the wrong name next to your business, getting your details right at the source is where we'd look first.

How AI answers it today

On October 29, 2026, ChatGPT read the phrase as a company's org chart and never mentioned search. Google's AI Overview gave the structured data meaning, citing Google's guide, Semrush and schema tool sites, and called three properties required, which Google's guide doesn't.
