Pinterest Search

Pinterest search is the search bar on Pinterest, where people look for ideas and products with words or a photo. Pinterest SEO means setting up your Pins and boards so they show up there. Pinterest's business help says to use relevant keywords in Pin and board titles and descriptions, and to make each Pin match the page it links to.

What Pinterest Search means for your business

Pinterest describes its users as people who want something new but haven't worked out the details yet. We'd see it as a good fit for businesses that sell something you can picture, like home goods, food, clothing or events, and a weaker one for most others.

Pinterest says it uses what people do with a Pin as they search, save and engage to decide what to show, and that a Pin can pick up engagement months or even years after it's posted. Its creator FAQ calls saves the strongest measure of how people engage with a Pin. So we'd write each Pin title and description in the words a shopper would type, and check that the image, text and keywords match the page the Pin sends people to.

Pinterest Trends shows which searches are rising and how seasonal ones change through the year. We'd check it well before a busy season and post Pins for it early.

If your products are the kind people plan around and your Pins rarely come up when they search, getting your Pins in front of those searches is work we do as part of social search.
