YouTube SEO
YouTube SEO is the work of helping your videos show up when people search on YouTube. YouTube says its search looks at how well a video's title, description, tags and content match the search, how people engage with it, such as watch time, and signs that a channel can be trusted on the topic.

What YouTube SEO means for your business
For a business, YouTube SEO starts with the questions your buyers already type into the search bar. We'd give each video one main question and answer it plainly, the way you'd answer a customer at the counter.
YouTube's tips say to pick one or two main words for a video, use them in both the title and the description, and give every video its own description. Its help page on video settings says tags play a small role unless your topic is often misspelled. We'd spend that time on the title and the first lines of the description instead.
YouTube also says it looks at the video content, not only the words typed around it. It doesn't say how, so we treat captions as help for viewers first. We'd say your main words out loud early on and upload accurate captions. That way people watching with the sound off can follow, and what you say matches what you wrote.
If you've posted helpful videos and still don't come up when buyers search, getting your videos found is work we do on YouTube and the other platforms your buyers use.
