Short-Form Video SEO

Short-form video SEO means making short vertical videos, like YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok videos, easy to find for people searching inside those apps. For Shorts, YouTube says search results are ranked on things like how well a Short's details match the search and whether viewers click and watch it.

What Short-Form Video SEO means for your business

Search is only one of the places a Short can show up. YouTube's help page also lists the Shorts feed, the home page, subscriptions, and sound and hashtag pages. Away from search, it says Shorts are ranked on how they do with each viewer: how many people choose to watch, how much they watch, and likes.

We'd write a plain title and description in the buyer's words, so a Short has something to match when people search. Our For You page entry covers how to plan one video for both search and the feed.

YouTube also says Shorts can't hurt how your longer videos get recommended. If your channel already has longer videos, we'd see little downside in trying Shorts that point to them.

If your short videos reach your followers but not new buyers looking for your kind of work, helping them show up in those searches is part of the work we do on social platforms.
