Near-Me Search
A near-me search is a search for something close to where the searcher is, like "salons near me". In Google's own example, a hair salon might show up for that search because the owner added an address and hours to its Business Profile.

What Near-Me Search means for your business
You don't need the words "near me" on your website. The address and hours do the matching. Google's marketing team also wrote in 2018 that these searches had moved from finding a place to finding a thing, like stamps or a facial, so the facts that count go past your address to what you sell.
Google also says that when a searcher doesn't share where they are, it uses what it knows about their location. So a plain search for "plumber" on a phone can work like a near-me search with the words left off. We'd treat every nearby search the same way and check your address or service area, your hours and your category first.
If people a few streets away search for what you sell and don't see you, helping nearby buyers find you is work we do.
