Review Schema
Review schema is code that marks up a review or a rating on a web page so Google can read it, using the Review and AggregateRating types. Google can show it as a review snippet, a short excerpt or an average star rating in search results. A business can't get those stars for reviews of itself that it controls.

What Review Schema means for your business
Testimonials on your own site, marked up as reviews of your business, won't get stars on Google, because you choose which ones go up. Google lists products, books, course lists, recipes, software apps and events among the things that can.
So we'd put the effort into reviews that other sites hold, like your Google Business Profile, Yelp and the directories in your trade. If you sell products, or your site reviews other things, Review markup on those pages is worth adding, with the rating, the reviewer and the item filled in the way Google's guide asks.
If buyers find good reviews on Google but AI answers describe you from an old or thin listing somewhere else, fixing those old listings is the job we'd pick up first.
