Bing Webmaster Tools
Bing Webmaster Tools is Microsoft's free service for checking how your website does in Bing search. It shows the searches that bring up your pages, whether Bing can find and index them, which sites link to you, and problems a site scan turns up.

What Bing Webmaster Tools means for your business
Microsoft said in June 2025 that Bing powers search for Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and AI tools like ChatGPT, as well as for Bing itself. So a page Bing can't find may be missing from more places than one search engine, which is why we'd set this up even for a business that only thinks about Google. The same account handles IndexNow, which lets you tell Bing right away when a page is added, changed or removed.
Since February 2026, a report called AI Performance, still in public preview, shows how often your pages were cited in Copilot, Bing's AI summaries and some partner AI tools, and which pages. It also shows a sample of grounding queries, the short phrases the AI searched for when it picked up your content. Reading those phrases next to the questions your buyers ask can show which pages are worth making clearer.
Bing says the counts don't show ranking or where a page sat in an answer, and the report covers only Microsoft's AI answers and select partners.

How AI answers it today
On October 29, 2026, Google's AI Overview said Bing's index powers ChatGPT, citing Reddit and a website builder's blog rather than Microsoft. ChatGPT cited Bing's own help pages. Neither answer mentioned the AI Performance report.
